Yay for Dreams come True! Boo for no photography

I understand that pictures could screw with the acrobats of Cirque Du Soliel, but I'm a fanatic when it comes to pictures. The only one I was allowed was one of my ticket. The show was amazing. Great music and great acts. It took me away from reality and that's what I think I needed

Do you ever stop to wonder what makes a cult classic

I think timeless jokes, such as "long duck dong", or "she's only eating carrots to make her boobs bigger"..hmm it seems that most of my favorite 80's movies references are sex related...this must be because I was and still am very fond of what used to be called the "brattpack." The teenagers that were always acting together. The adolescent versions of Cary Grants' crew.
Adolescent based movies. What's on everyone's mind? Sex. plain and simple. Sixteen Candles being by far one of the best movies of the 80's. I've watched it so many times I could probably quote it. So saying that I finally own it gives me great joy.
Molly Ringwald, even though I hate short hair, has always looked great in it, and always gets in on her character. I notice things now, that I didn't when I hadn't studied my favorite movies. The attire for example. I love the 80's but it's the worst time for fashion. I love the 70's. Love the 60's ...even the medieval ages. and 50's housewife apparel. 80's and 90s not my favorite time for clothing.
Watching this movie again reminds me also, of how much times change. "floppy disks are kind of expensive." and uses of such words as "wicked" .
The swooning never changes though, and Molly Ringwald always wears pink. Random facts of one of the bests movies of all time.

The world of Christmas

Jarrod often speaks of the Omniplex and there Christmas around the World showing of trees from all over. Julie talks about working with her students with the Christmas around the World. I, honestly can't remember ever studying different cultures ways of celebrating Christmas. Growing up in a small town. I didn't even know that, not all people celebrate Easter until I was about 9 yrs old.
After listening to stories, and discovering my love for traditions and others beliefs. I decided to study Christmas around the world at the age of 24, when I may be able to remember them and try to do things from other cultures..introduce old traditions into a new family.

In Yugoslavia they bake coins into a cake as a lucky tradition, pinatas are broken in Mexico on Christmas day, Italians read poetry... all of which I'd like to try. I think that maybe next year, I will have an awesome non Traditional Traditions Xmas party. Each day I will read more and get back to you on this subject

find a Christmas carol troupe to join
make farolitos to set on sidewalk
It seems I'm always full of unfinished ideas...here we have one that I never got around to.
it seems however that santas.net is awesome for this

Merry Xmas!!!!!

So, last minute Christmas parties, in which the only person you know is the host and those you came with, are surprisingly more fun than they sound.
I met several new people who I truly enjoyed, a few people to remind me that I would never fit in at a sorority, and several nerdy people such as myself.
We started the night off with a drinking game, continued with board games. Curses has always been a favorite of mine, and by the time we got to Apples to Apples. I was drunk and tired and ready to go home, in which case, I didn't.
Crashed with Jack and Sara at there house for reasons which made sense at the time. Also, I now have this Wicked Santa Pimp hat with Ho written all over it. All in All, I can't wait to throw one of my own

You don't owe me a mani..

It didn't hurt as bad as a pedi and if someone wanted me to get one again with them I probably would. This one was for my darling little sisters 1st and hopefully only wedding. I'm still worried about that one, anyhow...I'd never officially request a manicure. Just not my style. Random Quest accomplished. Achievement Gained

The Stupidest Thing I've done

It's been two months now, since I quit my job. I thought it would feel good, however, Jarrod quit not a day after and we're broke. Both of us are being bums on his cousin and I'm wishing that I still had my 9-5 fast food nonsense. I'm too scared to talk to people about schooling. I need to get the courage to do that. At least I wouldn't feel as much of a bum. Hopefully something good happens soon. No job, no prospects, the economy going to hell. It seems all is lost at the moment. I don't recommend this at all.

List of..Gratitude

It's always good to know there are things to be thankful for, and I have a list of what those things are. I keep it in a binder, in which I keep my journal, the sleeve. It's placed there so I will look at it every day and know that I still at least have something to be grateful for even when times are bad. Often enough, I don't write in this and then go through the list and realize "hey I do that..." now is one of those times.. there's not much I have to be thankful for at the present time but I do have the list that I am willing to share.
  1. oxygen
  2. roof over my head
  3. pillows
  4. friendships
  5. understanding
  6. creativity
  7. functioning brain
  8. electricity
  9. social interaction
  10. the internet
  11. food in stomach
  12. personality
  13. self respect
  14. having all five senses
  15. music
  16. technology
  17. I don't have schizophrenia
  18. my son
  19. all limbs intact
  20. the most wonderful man in the world

Oh Glorious HogFather... for hogswatch I want...

I remember it quite well : Jarrod and I headed into the local library in search of books to stimulate our minds, obviously being who we were, the first stop was the sci fi and fantasy sections. I managed to come upon the discworld series. Let me just tell you if you ever get a chance pick up the color of magic.. you too will be hooked. I once watched the movie and it was good but like all movies based on books " you never judge a book by it's movie."
It's been years since I first discovered Terry Pratchett's most amazing book series, and it wasn't until recently that I found out through the wonderful source of a geeky roommate that they made one of his books, "The Hogfather" into a movie. Needless to say as soon as I even heard of it. I made it a point to put it on my list as a must see before I die movie. For Christmas movies, to me. This one ranks just below the Nightmare before Christmas and just above A Christmas Story. It is a must have, and finally after months and months. I now own the Dvd version of The Hog Father"...and just in time for Hogswatch :)

I'm a zombie star!!!

Yes! I actually accomplished it :) I am in a movie! Not only am I in a movie..be it a low budget film, I'm in a movie as a zombie who gets shot! Beat that! :) Yay for accomplished goals! :) I never knew how much effort it would actually take to be a zombie. I'm so sore today but it was very worth it, and I'm glad I actually went through with it. Generally I'm shy when it comes to camera because I'm ashamed of my physical appearance but the running (uphilling) and then the falling, over and over. Getting shot about 12 times was a wonderful work out and when the movie comes out and I'm in the final battle I know that I'll be looking forward to this movie and seeing a lot of my friends and the memory of the time "that we were zombies in that one movie", is always going to be in my head. Chris mentions that it's going to haunt him for the rest of his life it "was that bad" but, even so...at least I can say I was in a movie. Here's the trailer...

I'm weak

I don't know how they do it.. I didn't eat for 24 hrs. No food, to see what it was like...I kept waiting for my stomach to growl..it never did, which means I eat enough for my stomach to be fine for a complete 24 hrs, nothing more than a headache.. The first taste of mcchicken was heavenly however..Experiment one down...many more to good where food is concerned.

Have you ever been the only girl at a bachlor party?... I have

and I wasn't the stripper. Actually there was no stripper. Just the groom, myself, and the roommates. His wife, now wife anyways, is a little on the jealous side. We had planned for beer pong, we had planned for smallville, we got liquor and liquor tends to change your plans. it went from simple lets just chill to "lets see how many shots we can take." Eventually my night ended with the groom trying to zombie proof the house.

Pirate Party...

I did enjoy it..although as frau says, We went as fairies and came back as disco balls. Glitter was everywhere, it seemed there was a gigantic amount of fairy themed costumes that night and as a fae you must bring glitter. Ah..well it was worth it :)

Always a bridesmaid

I was hoping to get pictures to add to this but my impatience outweighs my patience, however I did manage to walk down the aisle and watch my younger sister get married this year. How I wasn't terrified, still shocks me, maybe it was the fact that it was all family, or maybe it was the fact that it was my little sister getting married and not me. I did however become a bridesmaid that day and that was something I'd always wanted to try

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Here comes the bride...

I guess I was too young to remember how traditional weddings go, I'm not sure my family could be considered traditional in any sense of the word, my sister Heather tried though. She was married this October and as well as being able to watch her walk down the aisle. I was also a bridesmaid. This is the second of my sisters to get married.
I remember my eldest Stepsister Amanda's wedding. It was in the back of a bar. She was late because she was smoking a cigarette, and my Uncle Charles showed up late and drunk..What else can you expect from people raised in "Redneck USA."?
Heather's wedding was a lot smoother and was outdoors. They chose a beautiful location. I loved mostly being able to see family members I hadn't in so long more than the actual wedding and the drama it all entailed. Two sisters down, Three to go..

Monday, October 18, 2010

So, finally after years of saying I'm going to play at least once, I played beer pong at my mothers house with my family and friends...let me tell you, it is preferrable to play the game with beer instead of very strong mixed drinks. I'm pretty sure I'll never like coconut rum again but it was OH SO WORTH IT.

sneaky sneaky...

I made a road trip with my two best friends. Went and watched my little sister get married. The night of her wedding my mother had 15 people sleeping in her 2 bedroom house. couches and chairs were all used up so I went and crashed in my little sisters bed and found I hadn't been the only one to crash there. My nephew Diggy had also snuck into her room so it was a little difficult fitting myself and two teenage kids into a full size bed but we managed and I'm certain I wasn't expected. Turns out even without "having sex", I can still crawl into bed with an unexpected persons.

That tickles!

Ok, so I've always been ticklish and when my sister said "I want everyone to have matching pedicures for my wedding." the first thing I said was "no".
I was still hoping to get around it, up until friday when I was in the nail salon sticking my feet in the water. Never ever will someone other than myself touch my nails again. That was the most uncomfortable experience ever. trying to stay still. Most of my time was spent trying to concentrate on the massage just to take my mind off the fact that I want to twitch the entire time. Randi hopefully wont get married for a long time

Kylie's Putt Putt Extravaganza!!!!

Sunday October 3rd, 2010. We celebrated Kylie's 27th birthday with a game of 18 hole mini golf aka putt putt. With seasoned, amateur, and beginner players, and the occasional "just came by to wish you a happy birthday." I'm assuming that it wasn't the normal game of putt putt, but seeing as how the last time I played the game I was in elementary. Couldn't be 100% honest if I know the how you play the game.
Although, I am aware that throwing your sandals on the green to "add obstacle", usually is frowned upon. However, I doubt we're the only ones to bet on how many people will get the ball in the water. Not coming in last place was my goal for the day, and I succeeded ! Having Jarrod end up with the lowest score due to his inexperience at EVER playing . I got my first hole in one also, thanks to Kylie who knocked my ball into the hole. It was a great choice for a 27th birthday. I'll have to remember that for when mine comes up.

It's raining..It's pouring..

So it rained today. Seeing as how you can't take pictures of the rain without getting the camera wet, unless of course you have a waterproof camera, which as of yet I don't I can only show you the storm clouds..I had decided to go for a walk in the rain today. I got ready put my phone up, and got shoes on. The furthest I went was the parking lot. The water was cold. I love rain but cold rain is not fun. It did however make me laugh and think of this list. I wonder why some children are scared of storms.

Creating a Persona is hard!!!

I've been trying...I keep trying, I never realize how hard it is until I try. Honestly I'd rather just be Amber of Wolfstar, but seeing as how I feel that would be cheating. I keep going from Greek, to roman, to Spanish, or Italian. I want a pretty name I know that much for sure. lol, and I love all types of garb. I'm just not sure I can handle the Italian or the Spanish and the poofy.
It's been several years yet again. I finally have come up with a first name Isotta. Now to continue on my journey.....

It's off to the Loony Bin!!!

You never realize how much it effects you. The way traveling back to the past by taking a trip down memory lane and going to the comedy club to see one of the best shoes ever.
First we stopped for gyros because no one had eaten, and then we went to the club for James birthday. Laughter is one of the best ways I can think of to know someones having a good time. When you laugh so hard you cry, then you know it was a great night. I had my doubts, we were given mixed ratings about the show before going out there, however it was one of the best nights I've ever spent at "the loony bin". I'm hoping the one in Tulsa is just as good

It's been years...

Out of nowhere, last night my ex boyfriend added me to the beloved facebook. It was the first time I'd even heard from him in about four years. I was vaguely shocked and asked how he was, while remembering how badly he broke my heart. Turns out he's been divorced twice (irony considering he asked my mom permission to ask me to marry him b4 he dumped me the next week)., he's been bankrupt, and now has a child. At first, I relished that, I did. It seemed like sweet revenge, however, I've never been one for revenge. I did start reminiscing though.. and it's great to relive your first love..which he was.
I lost my virginity to him at the age of 17, I got into a wreck with him for doing things we shouldn't have been doing..I went to see him when he was at his parents and spent a Christmas with them, learned to play axis's and allies with them, learned of the game bunco. He went camping with my family at Turner falls one year.. This was the unexpected remember good times, and they really were good.

Ahhh! Zombies!!!!

So, I attended Gothic for the first time ever....
and even though I enjoyed seeing people I hadn't since Gulf Wars. It was not worth the Seven hr drive.
I did however come to the realization that I have the best friends in existance and that's always great to know. Some things were done that I'm not proud of, some things will never be repeated-the gallon of wolfsfire single handedly drunk by myself. But to know you can act like an imbecile and still have friends the next day, and people to help you take care of you when you can't walk..it's the best feeling ever. So much so, that in the weekend spent in Tx, I came to the conclusion that I want to move to stillwater Ok..yep, I'm moving to moonshadowe.

When the Wolfies howl...

Still in processs

Open your eyes
'Cos another day is dawning
Children of the moon
Can you hear them all calling?
Skies open up
And an angel starts falling
Listen to their beats (listen to the beasts)
Can you hear them hollering?

Chorus:
Stop in the morning
Through to the evening
Dance like
You're the only one around
Move like you want it
Go move like you need it
Dancing it up (dance lose it all)
Till the sun goes down (when the wolfie's howl)

Free your mind
'Cos tonight
We're gonna break it down (we're gonna run)
Shake, make it funky down (with the wolfstar crowd)
Get so high
As the toxins in your body
Are the bass and the drums
And the roar, roar, roar
We're right on time
And all is fine
If you've lost your senses
Here have mine and

Lose yourself in the time
You will wait
Till the evening time
Till the sunshine breaks

Ahh, come on

(Chorus)

Till the sun goes down

Go come on
For this makes for hysteria
You feelin'
What we bring to y'all
Peace and love
Guess I get it all tonight
Tonight, tonight, tonight

Fire is burning on
And there's children
In the forest playing
Just come forget this
To forget the "?"
Hun the forests prey
Yeaaah, noo, noooo
Yeaaaah, eeyy

Till the sun goes down
Till the sun goes
Sun goes down
Sun goes down
Sun goes down
Sun goes down

(Repete 1 estrofe)

(Chorus)

Grand Assembly of Archers

Well, I did. I went to my first archery event..with the hopes that I'd actually at least pick up the bow. It didn't happen, I was avoiding a person the entire weekend, which proved to be rather difficult. However, I did go to my very first Toga Party and I loved it!!! Throw a Toga party is now on my list of things to do. Crazy how doing one thing will make you think of another.

I did help sit gate, and set up the hafla, introduced newcomers into the sca and had a blast. It was wonderful seeing friends I haven't seen since summer started. Thats all for now..will post more later

Lucky

Seeing as how I don't have a dog to walk and my roommate doesn't take care of his. I've taken to walking that dog, and the fact that he doesn't have to be chained up, only going so far makes him so happy..I've seen him try to chase a squirrel, meet new dogs, and try to talk to kids. Never once have I seen him be mean or vicious towards anything..which is there excuse for keeping him on a leash in the backyard. It makes me wonder if they really know what "animal cruelty" means. I love that dog and if I could convince them to leave him here when they move. I would, for now..at least i know he's having fun..if only hanging out with me

He's my Ninja Cat

It took several years but I have finally adopted a pet. When I took him the name they had given him was Mufasah, however, he has been renamed to Ninja.
This cat tries to be sneaky and it amuses me, the fact that I found a cat as weird as myself is just wonderful. A person's pet should fit their personality and he does.

mmm...brownies

Brownies are the only form of chocolate that I am willing to eat with no complaint;being female I know that's odd, however I've never really questioned it....
Baking anything for me though, has always been a challenge. I once made charcoal black cookies, from the premixed batter even. Extremely talented that way.
So when at 11p.m. , my friends decided we should try baking brownies, the only reason I said yes was because i figured I wouldn't do most of it.. Then I realized that "bake brownies" was on this list. Also that Maura was determined to teach me to cook. Baking brownies from those boxes weren't near as hard as I'd imagined it to be. My favorite part about it was the company. being able to talk to one another about things we hadn't in forever because it was my first time seeing them in two months, the almost messing up the measuring 5 times due to lack of glasses,
the sitting down with the gigantic brownie and glass of milk and eating it while watching a romantic comedy. Being a girl... it's rare that I actually show any sort of female behavior but ironically enough, "the woman's work in the kitchen", actually did that.

Camp at little Niagara

So, little Niagara is located in Sulfur Oklahoma, named for the smell and obvious sulfur from the spring and surrounding area.
You can't actually camp there but the Recreation Area has several miles of camping areas and take hiking trips to explore the creek and get to little Niagara and actually swim in the freezing cold water.
I loved it. It was very different :the mundane camping and the society camping, I had my purse, tent, bedding and air mattress- a drastic reduction to what I generally bring, even for an overnight camping. It was gorgeous, HOT but gorgeous. Watching the Bison graze, witnessing a lovely butterfly land not even a hands length away from me and being able to witness the fertility of the land, the ripening of the fruit tree, it was a wonderful get away from what is hustle of everyday life

Oh, Mother Earth...

Have you ever looked at a butterfly and
wondered why it's in the city?...what it's doing around so much pollution, and why would it risk being flattened on someone's windshield? Our towns weren't always this bad for the environment, Our cars, our planes, our trains..a lot has changed to corrupt mother earth and her lovely inhabitants. Which is why I was delighted to see this monarch, at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, when I took my Sulfur camping trip. It was great to be able to get this close to the butterfly in a habitat it should be used to, full of fertile trees and green grass and Dirt, for this is a "dirt" planet.
Sometimes I wonder if our humanity is doomed, if my experiencing nature will turn out to be one of the hardest things someone will ever have to do...an animal in captivity is not experiencing the wild, a tree farm..though beautiful, is in itself just a gigantic FARM.. Nature should be free as it once was, it should be wild..not cultivated.

We went camping because it was on my "list of a million things to do", but Experiencing nature was also on my list and I'm glad I got the chance to do it before we kill what nature really was...

Step in a strangers footsteps..

I'm sure I've done this before, but I have decided to journey into someone Else's life to understand them just a small bit by doing something someone else has done. I want to try to make it something I can be proud of as well.
I'm not sure what it'll be..I'll let ya know

As strange as this may sound. I have finally found a person to step into the footsteps of : me

It's been years since I started this, and still very few is actually accomplished because I wasted the last five years on a guy with interests so different from mine that we never did anything I wanted. Also he wasn't the greatest person to express your dreams to. It's finally over. It's been over for months. Finally I have accepted it, now it's time to step into my own life. I've been walking in his shadow too long.

I had to been stepping in someone's footsteps and I do consider him a stranger because after spending time away from him I realize he switches personalities to meet whoever he has a new crush on. Even when we were together, he did that. At first we had a lot in common. Then we didn't. Now it's time to step out of the strangers footsteps and into my own.

I'd say it was fun but it wasn't. This was supposed to help me understand someone better and now all I know is that he doesn't even understand himself

Yes I drank from that....

So, I drank from the water of Antelope Springs...
Why? mostly because I wanted to say I've done it and experience the benefits. Not only are there no chemicals from fresh spring water and they are full of minerals; but spring water is said to have a healing effect because of the them. Tasting the water, I didn't taste anything different, it was water, it was better than tap water but not as good as the water from Fiji the sulfur in the water is also said to help you..we'll see. If nothing else, at least I got a cool picture

Ginormous

I'm not sure when I started using this word but Gigantic and Enormous have come together to show the LARGEST possible thing : GINORMOUS!!!
Yea, I don't even realize I'm saying it most of the time.

Here we go...

Created by MyFitnessPal - Free Weight Loss Tools

That's right. I've finally decided to start. I'm scared, failure is always the first thing in my mind when i think of diets, this is on my list of things to do though and I'm going to do it. Motivation for starting now?.. My sister is getting married and i will be a bridesmaid, as much as i hate bridesmaids dresses, it's gonna be even worst knowing that i'm up there with toothpick thin woman..so now it's time to start and actually accomplish my goal, so with the help of myfitnesspal, hopefully i wont back down now.

So, seeing as how I just started this is going to be hard but I should not go with fast food for both lunch and dinner...I'll do better tomorrow...I hope.

And yet again, I get stressed and distracted. I have lost 4 lbs, not quite sure how, maybe stress maybe not. I'm going to have to start working on this again. I have no excuse not to work out seeing as how at the moment I'm currently jobless and need to walk around to find a job since driving around town is impossible with some nicotine induced roommate who's broke as well

Yea, seeing as how I have no willpower, this is gonna take some time.

It's been months now, and lots has gone on in my life. I'm broke, no money whatsoever. Living off of amazing friends. Really hoping to get a job soon. Stress however, definitely a good thing. I've lost 9 lbs without even trying. Hopefully it will continue to decrease. Hopefully...

It's now been over a year since I posted this, and I have only lost 7 lbs. I love food way too much. I need to get motivated. My new boyfriend says we will join a gym together, but so far, he is all talk. Maybe he will, then I shall get in shape, and have fun

Everyone loves a slinky...NOT

So, slinky playing is on my list of things to do..and I did it, only to come to the realization that I never really could keep an interest in a slinky. Gave it five minutes and I was bored, this one particularly interested me because it was a florescent color.
Do you remember Ace Ventura and the slinky? Some one has to be 10x's a moron to find that interesting past there teens. Just a thought

Game Night

So it's been a few weeks, since we started gaming and it makes me happy because not only do i get to see some of my best friends every week but I also get to play D&D.
I love thinking games, even if my brain sometimes doesn't want to work.I love the dice, the paper, the envisioning the characters..It's all freaking awesome !!!!!!
My character in this campaign is a gypsy bard half-elf. Generally i'd go for a Rogue but the dm has decided we should learn 2nd edition because he doesn't like 3rd or 4th..so everything is backwards..but it's a new game basically and I'm having fun learning it.
