Do you ever stop to wonder what makes a cult classic

I think timeless jokes, such as "long duck dong", or "she's only eating carrots to make her boobs bigger"..hmm it seems that most of my favorite 80's movies references are sex related...this must be because I was and still am very fond of what used to be called the "brattpack." The teenagers that were always acting together. The adolescent versions of Cary Grants' crew.
Adolescent based movies. What's on everyone's mind? Sex. plain and simple. Sixteen Candles being by far one of the best movies of the 80's. I've watched it so many times I could probably quote it. So saying that I finally own it gives me great joy.
Molly Ringwald, even though I hate short hair, has always looked great in it, and always gets in on her character. I notice things now, that I didn't when I hadn't studied my favorite movies. The attire for example. I love the 80's but it's the worst time for fashion. I love the 70's. Love the 60's ...even the medieval ages. and 50's housewife apparel. 80's and 90s not my favorite time for clothing.
Watching this movie again reminds me also, of how much times change. "floppy disks are kind of expensive." and uses of such words as "wicked" .
The swooning never changes though, and Molly Ringwald always wears pink. Random facts of one of the bests movies of all time.
