my comedy tragedy mask...
So after years of asking my mother to make me a comedy tragedy mask. I finally went to her shop while i was down there and made one on my own...it's ironic how the first thing that I've ever made with my hands turned out to be something that could be so easy to make..ok so, maybe I did not use my own hands while cutting out the piece, but i drew the piece, painted the piece, and nailed the hanger on it..does that count? I hope it does cause the router scares.
Attend a revel...
well it's been awhile since I attended a revel so I thought I'd put it on my list of things to do, and this 4th of July weekend that's exactly what I did. I attended a revel, it was entertaining but it didn't have the same feel as my first revel and thats wat I'm missing. I want to go to a revel that's actually a revel.I want to see the firepit and watch the bellydancers, I want to hear bards randomly sing, I want to see torchlight fighting, when I first joined the sca there was a lot of that. not so much anymore and I miss it.

I'm sick...no really
I've heard of people calling in sick just to call in sick. It's on everyone's to do list. I never understood why, so I decided that I would call in sick, well technically it was more like go over to the boss's apartment since he lives in the same complex and tell him i was sick since technically the day before I was and I wanted to experience the whole taking a day for myself thing..let me tell you it's a lot harder to lie to a person face to face, but I pulled it off. Intent on going home and going back to sleep, I walk home only to realize I'm not tired..so I get on the computer and randomly mess around. I did absolutely nothing that day except lounge until about 7 p.m. when we went to walmart to grab some tampons for me...yes I am female i do need them. Then we spend half and hour walking around a carnival that was completely geared through kids...all in all I think that taking a day for myself is not that interesting and I don't get the need to do it.
hello
Everyday it seems at work obviously, working in the fast food industry I say hi to several complete strangers, the only thing is..we have so many repeat costumers they don't stay strangers for long; sure I don't know their names or where they live, but I do know that every Thursday the lady who loves having her one day off of cooking will come in and order a 16 pc box and 4 extra wings, or that the 16 yr old child will go through drive though and order a 5 pc chicken strip with extra fries, every day. I like to think I'm part of the reason they come back but in all actuality it's just the chicken oh well, maybe one day I'll say hi to a stranger who wont be at work
Living Green
Even though I'm not a great advocate for living green I would like to be more environmentally friendly, so I've taken to learning about green living and No VOC, Low Voc paints. I was watching an episode of dirty jobs on the discovery channel about eco friendly environmental jobs and I was very intrigued. I've decided that when I and if I ever have a house built i would love for it to be built with cod walls.
Chess
Yesterday, after getting off of work I told Ryan I would play a game of chess with him if he would teach me how..it seems strange to learn one of the great strategic games from a 10 year old little boy, but he explained it a lot better than any of my former teachers and even though I got my ass handed to me, I actually think I grasped the concept for a change. Funny how some of the most complex things can be broken down into the simplest forms.

New Bardic Song...
written by lady Rohen, I'm extremely happy to finally have the lyrics
Storm Dancer
Lightening dimly lights the sky
Dance my lady dance
Thunder rolls through clouds on high
Dance my lady dance
She laughs her answer to his call
Dance my lady dance
And starts the steps as the first rain falls
Dance my lady dance
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
She shouts into the wind
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
It echoes back again
She twirls in time to lightening flash
Dance my lady dance
And stomps her feet to thunder crash
Dance my lady dance
Through sheets of rain and puddles deep
Dance my lady dance
She claps her hands and she lightly leaps
Dance my lady dance
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
She shouts into the wind
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
It echoes back again
With movements wild yet full of grace
Dance my lady dance
She gives her self up to the pace
Dance my lady dance
And through the gust of wind and rain
Dance my lady dance
Was born her hopes her peoples’ pain
Dance my lady dance
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
She shouts into the winds
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
It echoes back again
She slowly spins around and round
Dance my lady dance
Then rests her knees upon the ground
Dance oh how she’d danced
Then flings her arms out as she yells
“I dance my lord I danced!
Please bless our homes our fields our hills!
Danced for you I danced!”
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
She shouts into the wind
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!”
It echoes back again
“Aye-ya-ya-ya!
Dance my lady dance”
“Aye-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya
I danced my lord I danced!
I danced my lord I danced!
I danced my lord I danced”
once i've learned it. I shall post a video, just thought I'd post the song I'm attempting for now...

Pig tails Pig tails!
There's something quite nonchalant about wearing one's hair in pig tails. Takes you back to childhood. I don't know why, as a kid I never wore pig tails; mom always made them too tight and I wasn't any better. I stuck to simple hair down, no bands...I still do. It's just a Pippy long stocking feel though. Every time I think of her, it's always laughter, fun, wild clothes and pig tails....oh to be young again :)
Moondance Alexander
Last night, after reading the Effigies, I couldn't sleep. Jarrod hadn't gotten off of work yet and everything was scaring me. Thats when I decided to watch a movie. I looked through my list and found Moondance Alexander, what a strange name for a child. Since it was a family film I figured it would be alright.
The pinto was gorgeous. It reminded me of the paint horse my cousin's owned growing up. I had a palomino named Trinity, she was lovely but I've always loved the colorful horses. Jade was the the name of my cousin's horse. We used to take them walking around town and along trails, on the banks of the river. I loved that part about growing up in the country.
At one point in time I wanted to barrel race, never once though did I think about jumping. I love the thrill it gives and everything but Trinity was never very well mannered so obviously both were out of the question.
This movie reminded me a lot about when I first encountered horses. I think I was around 10, when one of my stepfathers nephews decided he was going to buy some horses. He didn't live in town though and worked 7 days on, 7 days off job. So, when he asked for us to take care of them for him, my step dad agreed and I learned about taking care of horses.
There were three: Vanity, Angel, and Dude.
Dude was the only male and he was bought to breed with the others. He had a legal name but I don't remember it, I just know I did not like it..so I called him Dude. He was very playful.
Vanity was just as her name suggested, gorgeous and vain. She loved attention and was the most timid of the group. She was also the most graceful. When dad first suggested I ride with them, she was the one I started with. I loved her.
Angel was my hero, she was born into captivity, yet she had the spirit of a mustang. Very, very strong willed. So much, in fact, that when it came time to break her. No one wanted to.
By that time though, they let me try it, and she seemed to like me. I spent most of my last times with the three switching between vanity and angel.
Trinity was born from Angel, and when she was born my cousin decided that he would give her to us..because he was selling the other horses and I think he felt guilty. So there she was my gorgeous palomino. She was as graceful as vanity, as spirited as angel, and as playful as dude. I loved her. I remember being so happy when they let me name her.
I would ride her as often as I could, and when she was in our backyard, I'd visit her..but then as time went by I guess I sort of got out of my horse phase and slowly forgot about her. It was always nice to know she was there though.
After I moved away to Oklahoma City after High School, my step dad decided that it was time to get rid of the horse. It was upsetting until I realized he just gave it to my nephew. Still, I haven't seen her since I graduated, and Checkers reminds me an awful lot of my Trinity.
I never realized how greatly impacted by my family I was until I started blogging. Even a movie with such a great plot and wonderful characters can turn into a memory of the past.
All in all, a great family film that even has a hint of morales in the story. Racism, Bigotry, Discrimination..whatever you want to call it. Triumph over failure. You will persevere .The try try again method...

I realize after going through this that I did not actually describe the movie, just took a trip down memory lane, again this is another movie I shall have to re watch to be able to accurately explain the plot and my feelings on the storyline
I will definitely see about adding it to my movie collection

read a new book every month
So I finished this month's new book
THE EFFIGIES by William K. Wells
I remember buying this book almost two years ago in Uptown Thrift. I used to work at that thrift store and I was very fond of it's book section. I picked this one up for a full $0.75, Chosen because I had just watched The stepford wives and the picture on the front was of a blond female and the cover said " born in darkness. they will walk abroad in daylight. The are coming...the Devil's own!"
If I'd have known how much this book would scare me I'd never have started reading it. Many times have I attempted this book. Always setting it down before finishing the first page, finally I made up my mind on setting to my list and since money's tight a new book that I didn't already own would be ridiculous.
In the beginning I loved the book. A true mystery novel is always a favorite of mine. "who did it?" ....it's always someone you don't suspect.
I was disappointed in the way they made the hippies at job's camp out to be...for one hippies don't carry around shot guns, most believe in peace not war, and most don't worship the devil. I was also disappointed in the way that I did not perceive Father Conant as the bad guy. I never once suspected him.. so, maybe once or twice but never as many times as I suspected any number of the other men.
It made me cry, the book did. Not literal tears, but inside, it also scared the shit out of me.
I don't know if I want to sleep anymore. The thought of the Devil's own, walking talking, effigies of others impersonating...it's a scary notion.
I wonder if it's only me that got afraid of this book as much as i did. Even the picture on the cover is freaking me out. I think i'll throw it away, the cover that is..not the book.
Being agnostic, I'm still not sure what I believe in Heaven& Hell, The God & Goddess, Recreation...
It still scares me to think of evil. For I do believe that Evil is real. It shows up everywhere, the two little girls who were murdered recently in Oklahoma, The woman who drowned all 5 of her children in Texas, The Boston Massacre...it's all evil and it does exist
I was very into the book from the time it started until the time it ended. Whether I'll ever re read it is another story. I'll just keep it on the shelf for now.
July, 2011 One flew Over the Cuckoos Nest....
I have yet to finish this book, it seems to not be one of my favorites and a very long read...hopefully it picks up, I have been trying to finish it for 2 months now, I have 3 more days to finish it.. it's now August 4th and I've finally finished the book here goes

This goal should be updated more often and it seems I bad about doing it
May, 2011 Darkly Dreaming Dexter...
I'm so fond of the Dexter Television Show, that this book was on my individual to do list as a stand alone, so when I found it at a thrift store for $.75 In wonderful condition I picked it up no hesitation( even though at the time being jobless and saving. what little money I had). It was definitely worth it though and my expansion on this is located here...
August, 2011 Ancient Evenings
It doesn't seem that I can write a review over every book I have read and remember it. I'm going to try to work on that now. Ancient Evenings was too above my comprehension.
April, 2012 Hunger Games Trilogy
Thankfully this trilogy came into my hands before the movie came out. Technically this is a review over the last several months but I'm condensing it. It seems post apocalyptic stories are always some of my favorites... and even though this is labeled as a young adult fiction book, the violence, starvation, fight to the death makes it a wonderful story
It has been years since I've updated this...I have read since then I promise.
I went on a reading spree this last month and now I have to decide what book I shall pick as the book of the month
July, 2015 Gypsy
If you are at all a fan of science fiction, or Marvel comics. This is a book for you. The downfall is I continually found myself comparing the teenagers and there abilities with Xmen characters. It was a great quick read, young adult novel that I highly recommend.
August 2015
Sugar and Spice and not so nice.

Sugar and Spice and not so nice.
My fair Lady
MY FAIR LADY
Eliza Doolittle's voice in the beginning of the movie continuously reminded me of Mrs. Lovett 's in Sweeney Todd.
I wonder if there is any truth as to what Henry Higgin's said about people's voices giving away their classes. Of course, it's true about a persons dialect and accents giving away there general location but to precisely pinpoint it would be extremely hard pressed.
Why though, I wonder must they have made Eliza so dumb. Surely a woman who has practically raised herself could grasp the things that they had claimed she had not...
awe well..back to trying to finish the movie
all in all I found it to be a very good movie, It was funny and kept my interest quite well, although I must admit;I hate Henry Higgins. He never had anything nice to say
and his thoughts on woman..well they were fit for those times...
Women are irrational, that's all there is to that! Their heads are full of cotton, hay, and rags. They're nothing but exasperating, irritating, vacillating, calculating, agitating, maddening and infuriating hags!
I don't think that there was ever a moment that I liked him. His arrogant ways made him easy for me to dislike. I was disappointed when she went back to him.
Hold that thought: turns out I lied, there was one line of his that made me like him.
You've never wondered, I suppose, whether... whether I could get along without you.
It's a movie I'd watch again, if only for Audrey Hepburn. She has a wonderful stage performance, the way she could portrait her characters...very few actresses of our time could live up to her...if any

A list of a million things to do...
have started this because i want to share my journey with others. My list may be long and boring but honestly i don't care if anyone reads it. I'd just like to know it's out there.
I will write about them after accomplishing a task with thoughts and whatnot. This will probably take years but at least I'm attempting to do something I enjoy in life and not just wash away watching movies and playing video games and staying addicted to myspace.
..It's been years since I've even read this list and now, I'm going about to finish it.
My list of things to do ( mostly picked off of other lists for inspiration, or childhood memory's i want to try to relive, and a few of my own added in):
