My fair Lady

MY FAIR LADY

I attempted to watch My fair lady yesterday. I got half way through the movie. It wasn't that I didn't like it. I loved it; it's just that I was trying to watch it online and the movie wouldn't load.
Eliza Doolittle's voice in the beginning of the movie continuously reminded me of Mrs. Lovett 's in Sweeney Todd.
I wonder if there is any truth as to what Henry Higgin's said about people's voices giving away their classes. Of course, it's true about a persons dialect and accents giving away there general location but to precisely pinpoint it would be extremely hard pressed.
Why though, I wonder must they have made Eliza so dumb. Surely a woman who has practically raised herself could grasp the things that they had claimed she had not...

awe well..back to trying to finish the movie

all in all I found it to be a very good movie, It was funny and kept my interest quite well, although I must admit;I hate Henry Higgins. He never had anything nice to say
and his thoughts on woman..well they were fit for those times...

Women are irrational, that's all there is to that! Their heads are full of cotton, hay, and rags. They're nothing but exasperating, irritating, vacillating, calculating, agitating, maddening and infuriating hags!

I don't think that there was ever a moment that I liked him. His arrogant ways made him easy for me to dislike. I was disappointed when she went back to him.

Hold that thought: turns out I lied, there was one line of his that made me like him.

You've never wondered, I suppose, whether... whether I could get along without you.

It's a movie I'd watch again, if only for Audrey Hepburn. She has a wonderful stage performance, the way she could portrait her characters...very few actresses of our time could live up to her...if any
